Robert Simpson is a postgraduate student studying star formation, finishing his PhD in Cardiff University in the UK. Alasdair Allan is a senior research fellow in Astronomy at the University of Exeter. He leads the work there to build a distributed peer-to-peer network of telescopes which, acting autonomously, will reactively schedule observations of time-critical transient events.
