.Astronomy 2008 (Cardiff) was the first exclusive meeting for astronomy’s online and new media community. Talks ranged from the Virtual Observatory to Twitter to the International Year of Astronomy’s new media initiatives. Speakers told all about robotic telescopes, hacking the sky and podcasting astronomy. The Cardiff conference was such a success that a second .Astronomy event is being held in Leiden in 2009.
Our online video archive of the 2008 event outlines many of the talks. If you’d like to really get into the detail of what was said, the conference proceedings are also available.
